KEKS Launches New M-Meter For Leica M

KEKS, developers of retro-inspired accessories for Leica cameras, has announced the new M-Meter for Leica M.

If you’re lucky enough to own a meterless Leica M camera body, the new M-Meter is your answer to effective and accurate light metering and exposure control.

While the KEKS M-Meter boasts retro-inspired aesthetics, inside is a complete and technologically advanced bit of kit.

KEKS M-Meter For Leica M

Explicitly designed for Leica M bodies, the KEKS M-Meter borrows heavily from the iconic Leica MR Meter while delivering current-gen convenience and performance.

KEKS M-Meter is available in three unique finishes, including Satin Chrome, Black Chrome, and Black Paint, to perfectly match your M4’s finish.

The Satin Chrome and Black Chrome variants are made from aluminium for optimal durability and weight. The Black Paint M-Meter is made from solid brass with paint over the top—the finish will wear and patina over time.

Much like the retro Leica MR Meter, the new KEKS M-Meter couples with the Leica M4’s shutter speed dial for accuracy and exposure management. It also removes the need to dial specific information into the meter or to adjust the shutter speed unnecessarily.

While the M-Meter resembles a classic Leica accessory, it packs some serious current gen tech, including a 1.3″ OLED panel to display all essential readings and exposure information.

The tiny OLED display allows you to accurately dial and view customizable settings, including Aperture, ISO, Exposure Compensation, Min and Max values and more.

Powering KEKS’ latest product is a built-in battery delivering up to 10 hours of performance and USB-C charging performance.

KEKS M-Meter boasts an incredibly accurate VEML7700 ambient light sensor with 16-bit digital resolution.

The all-new KEKS M-Meter for Leica M meterless cameras is compatible with the Leica M1, M2, M3, M4, M4-2, M4P, MA, MD, and MD2 models.

Pre-orders for the meter are open now. Depending on the variant you select, the retail cost will be around US$120.00. Units will ship in May 2025.
