TTArtisan Reveal AF 35mm F1.8 Ⅱ For Nikon and Sony

TTArtisan has revealed an updated Mark II version of its popular AF 35mm f/1.8 for Nikon and Sony APS-C digital mirrorless cameras.

TTArtisan Tech (HK) Company Limited has been a Chinese lens maker since 2019. In five years, the brand has built a solid reputation as a third-party lens developer with a growing stable of sharp optics.

The original TTArtisan AF 35mm f/1.8 was a relatively compact and lightweight 35mm cropped sensor third-party offering that was optically sharp and highly affordable.

As recently reported, the AF 35mm f/1.8 II was initially released for Fujifilm X mount only. Fortunately, the budget-friendly standard prime is now also available for Nikon Z and Sony E APS-C.

The AF 35mm f/1.8 II Is More Compact Than Ever!

The new AF 35mm f/1.8 II builds upon the success of the original lens while also reducing weight and length considerably.

Despite its all-metal body, TTArtisan’s new Mark II lens drops the weight from 7oz (199g) to 6.20z (176g) and the length from 2.55″ (65mm) down to 2″ (51mm).

Consequently, the fast standard prime is ideal for everyday use or travel where a simple, lightweight kit is needed.

The new TTArtisan AF 35mm f/1.8 II’s standout feature is its bright f/1.8 maximum aperture and 9-bladed aperture, which provide excellent subject separation and background blur.

The internal lens assembly features 10 elements in 7 groups, including 2 high-refractive elements and 2 ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements.

Given the flexible use cases of a 35mm APS-C lens (53mm full-frame equivalent), it offers a 15.75″ (40cm) minimal focus distance for close-ups and portraiture.

An STM motor and a guiding screw thread for fast and reliable focus response and accuracy drive autofocus performance.

A unique feature of the TTArtisan AF 35mm f/1.8 II APS-C lens includes a lens mount cap, which offers a USB-C port for quick firmware updates. The rear mount cap acts as a data transfer hub for the lens.

The new TTArtisan AF 35mm f/1.8 II is on its way for Fujifilm, Sony, and Nikon and is expected to retail for around US$125.00.
